This past week I participated in the Habitec Security Toledo Open at Belmont Country Club on September 15th and 16th. The course was in great shape, plus it reminded me a lot of Clovernook and Springfield (the course I grew up on and my home course at Witt).
As the tournament started I was off to a hot start, being 4-under through 6. A few hiccups drew me back, but I kept grinding and finished with a one-under par, 71. Once the second and final round was under way, I wasn't off to the same big start I was off to the day before. After turning with a 39, I knew I had to make something happen. I remained patient and started making some birdies. My patience paid off, as I made four birdies and came in with a 32, good enough for another one-under, 71, giving me a two day total of 142 (-2).
I ended up finishing in a tie for sixth place. It felt good to play well when it counted and earn my first paycheck as a professional!
Just keep watching.
